THE TRUTH

They can hide the receipts… but they can’t hide the blueprint.

Most people have never heard of Annie Turnbo Malone. And that’s not some random “oops.” That’s the pattern. Black History Month rolls around and we get the same recycled names… while the real builders get pushed to the side like they’re optional reading.

WHO THEY DIDN’T TEACH YOU

Annie wasn’t just a “successful business owner.” She built infrastructure.

She built a hub and a college.
A place where people got trained, supported, connected, and put into position to win.

She trained thousands of Black women to earn.
Skills plus income plus stability… in a country that wasn’t handing out any of that!

This story isn’t just “look at her success.”
It’s “look at the system she built.” Big difference.

THE LESSON FOR TODAY

Too many of us are trying to build wealth on motivation and stress.

Too many business owners are “doing well” but still feel like one bad month could take the whole thing down. That’s not success. That’s survival with better branding.

Here’s the blueprint Annie leaves us:
Clarity: Know exactly what you do, who you serve, and what you sell. If it takes you five minutes to explain, it’s not clear.
Community: Build relationships that actually hold people up. Not just followers. Real people. Real support.
Cash: Set up a system so one “big month” isn’t your whole plan. That’s not strategy, that’s gambling.
Consequences: Protect what you’re building. Because life will test you… and people will take what you don’t guard.

DO THIS THIS WEEK

Business owners, hear me clearly: Stability is power!

Before this week is over, do ONE thing that strengthens your base:

  • Separate your money buckets (even if it’s simple).

  • Clean up your offer (one clear core offer).

  • Set a weekly money check-in (15 minutes, same day every week).

  • Start a referral circle (5 people, one group text, send business).

QUESTION FOR YOU

Who’s a Black builder we should be talking about next that the world conveniently “forgot”…and why?
